okay so I’m going to post this to a guinea pig forum but I thought I’d try tumblr too because I have a lot of knowledgeable guinea pig buddies on here too!
spoonie is REALLY sensitive about being touched on his front and back legs, and sometimes his stomach and even his chin. I uploaded a video to show you how reacts… this is actually kind of a moderate response. Sometimes he rolls over onto his back and starts flailing, almost like a seizure. It’s really scary and I want to at least know why he’s so finicky! :(
He’s gotten treatment for mites as I originally thought, but… is there any other cause for this?

Bad laptop photo of two $5 piggy commissions for capntrips and ginnypants. They are about 4” long and they are done in literally five minutes (okay a little longer than that because it takes longer for the ink and marker to dry but that’s not actual working time).
If anyone else wants one…I can do other animals too. Just putting that out there.

Okay, so I have a female guinea pig who is probably about 5 months old. Today I got another female guinea pig from PetSmart and she can’t be too old.(she’s tiny) I introduced them completely away from the cage. I use a c and c cage. I put them near eachother and they sniffed and whatever, so I put them in the cage together. They were fine for a little while, then my older guinea pig started to chase the little one around and eventually bit her and pulled her fur out, I saw it in her mouth. I tried making them smell the same with some hand lotion to try and help and I guess it didn’t work. The little one is terrified, I have an inch long bite from when I tried to take my old guinea pig out of the cage (never bit me this bad before) and the old one is making really bad chattering noises. I’m gonna divide the cage for a few weeks so they can smell each other but can’t hurt each other. I really want them to get along, I got another guinea pig so the other wouldn’t be lonely. If anyone could help, I’d really appreciate it.
Did you try cleaning the cage? Top to bottom cleaning would make your current pig lose her hostility from feeling like her space is being invaded. Guinea pigs are somewhat territorial (though not as much as other animals), so introducing them in the cage that has no trace of the original’s smell may help them settle better.
